The North East Voluntary and Community Sector Awards wouldn't exist without the generous support of our sponsors. We receive no funding for the awards and have to cover all costs including administration, venue hire and ceremony through finding sponsorship.
Overall Sponsor - Natwest

Michael Holgate, Senior Relationship Manager for NatWest, said: "NatWest is committed to supporting the Voluntary and Community Sector in the North East and we are delighted to sponsor the North East VCS Awards, and we would like to wish all entrants the best of luck."
NatWest works to ensure we are the UK's leading community bank. We do this by helping to make the UK a more enterprising place by enabling aspiring entrepreneurs to realise their dreams of starting up in business, by enabling deprived neighbourhoods to become more enterprising and we support not-for-profit organisations who are at the heart of efforts to build stronger communities.

Most Inspiring Campaign - sponsored by SkillShare North East
Skillshare is sponsoring this award for campaigning because we believe that a strong local community is active and resilient, one where local people feel able to express their voice and make themselves heard.
We recognise that all over this region in different ways people have come together with a collective campaigning voice challenging decision makers and calling for change. It might be to save a valuable service, to give a voice to the vulnerable, or to create a better living environment. Some campaigns are very small and locally based; others are taking on the might of large organisations and decision makers.
This past year has seen local people campaign against further development of open cast mining, trying to save hospital services, road safety and most recently gathering to save much loved Woodlands. And these are just some examples.
Skillshare would like to recognise these campaigners, their courage and persistence in trying to make or keep their communities safe and vibrant places to live.
Look around you, at all those people trying to make their communities a better place to live....and nominate them for this award.

NEEP 'Empowering Communities' Award - sponsored by North East Empowerment Partnership
NEEP is one of nine regional partnerships forming the National Empowerment Partnership funded for four years (2007-2011) to promote a "truly participative society and promote the fundamental role of empowerment in achieving a more equal, cohesive and democratic society." The partnership aims to encourage collaborative working between providers in the public, third and private sector to improve the quality, coordination and evidence of empowerment across England. NEEP brings together community engagement and empowerment representatives from across the region to improve understanding and to develop and build on good practice.
Hosted by VONNE and launched in summer 2008, the partnership is open to anyone involved in empowerment and engagement at community, local and regional level.
