Walk to School Coordinator (North East)
We're looking for dedicated and committed people to oversee the rollout of our successful Walk once a Week (WoW) scheme in three regions of the UK. The Regional Coordinator will act as a point-of-contact for local authorities and schools, as well as the administration of the project on a day-to-day basis. One of the key parts of the role will be building relationships with stakeholders within local authorities and strategic partnerships with the aim of ensuring WoW's continuation beyond the 2 year project timeframe. The successful candidate will need to undergo an enhanced CRB clearance as this role will involve some working with children. The three roles are based in Tyne & Wear/Teeside, Greater Manchester/Merseyside and the West Midlands. There is one role in each region.
About the Organisation
Living Streets is the national charity that stands up for pedestrians. With our supporters we work to create safe, attractive and enjoyable streets, where people want to walk.
We have been the national voice for pedestrians throughout our 80 year history. In the early years, our campaigning led to the introduction of the driving test, pedestrian crossings and 30mph speed limits. Since then our ambition has grown. Today we influence decision makers nationally and locally, run successful projects to encourage people to walk, and provide specialist consultancy services to help reduce congestion and carbon emissions, improve public health, and make sure every community can enjoy vibrant streets and public spaces.
