Membership

Membership of VONNE

We rely on our members to shape the work of VONNE and welcome you to become a member. Its FREE to join, take a look at the benefits of joining and then download a membership form.

VONNE is the support body for the voluntary and community sector (VCS) in the North East of England. We represent over 600 charities, voluntary organisations, community groups, networks and social enterprises from across the region with further reach through our many networks.

We aim to achieve this by:

being the expert source of knowledge and intelligence on the Sector in the North East
developing networks and partnerships of VCS organisations across the region
providing information, advice and support to the VCS
developing, influencing and responding to policy that affects the VCS in the region
working with statutory and other partners to increase recognition of the sector's roles and needs
supporting VCS representation, advocating for and providing a voice for the sector.

The benefits of membership

Membership is FREE for the vast majority of VCS organisations. As a member you will:

Receive our quarterly magazine, The VINE, packed with regional news and issues affecting the voluntary and community sector.
Receive fortnightly email bulletins.
Receive targeted information relevant to your organisation's work focus.
Be invited to regular free events and briefing sessions.
Enjoy free advertising of jobs and events through our website.
Be able to contribute to the sector's regional voice through consultation and research exercises.
As a Full Member you will have voting rights within VONNE.

VONNE membership criteria

VONNE has an open membership for any voluntary and community organisation in the North East of England.

For Full Membership your organisation must:

be independent, in that you determine your own existence, constitution and objectives
be volunteer controlled, in that the members of the managing committee/board of directors/trustees derive no financial benefit from those positions
create a public benefit, where all financial surpluses are re-invested and not distributed to members
have a physical base in the North East of England.

Branch/Network Membership Branches will be a branch of a local or national organisation or be a project of another VCO in the North East, who meets the criteria for full membership. Networks will be a network of organisations, or individuals who are based in the North East. Branch or Network member will receive all of the benefits of the full membership however you will not receive voting rights.

For Associate Membership your organisation, or you as an individual, must have an interest in the voluntary and community sector in the North East of England. There is a fee for this membership, see below.

Annual Membership Charges

Full Membership

Free - for VCOs in the North East.

Branch/Network Membership

Free - for branches of local or national organisations / projects of another VCO in the North East.
Free - for a network of organisations or individuals based in the North East.

Associate Membership

£50 - for VCOs not in the North East.
£100 - for individuals and organisations that are not VCOs.

To join please download and complete the membership form below. There are two versions. The PDF version is for you to complete and fill in by hand. The Word version can be completed on your computer. Please note that both need to be signed and posted back to us with payment where appropriate.
