Social Enterprise
What is Social Enterprise?
Social enterprises are businesses trading to meet a social need. There can be lots of different types: from worker co-operatives to mutuals, provident societies to fair trade shops. Or they can just be an organisation which aims to trade goods in order to fund a project which meets a social need. Social enterprises are as varied as the number of enterprises themselves. By putting their profits back into communities, they are a cornerstone of regeneration.
