VONNE

VONNE is passionate about the diverse nature of communities within the North East and recognises the hugely valuable contribution the voluntary and community sector (VCS) makes to improving equality and human rights in the region. 

VONNE is committed to championing the role the VCS can play in the equality and diversity agenda. We work through and with a number of structures to help strengthen the voice of the sector to influence decision-makers, policy-formers and funders.

VONNE is proud to have host hosted the VCS Equalities Coalition, which has grown to support the VCS over the last four years.

VONNE also actively participates in, and supports, the following key regional structures:

• North East Equality and Diversity Board
• Networking for Change

As part of VONNE’s role, it keeps abreast of national developments and supports the sector to understand, interpret, apply and influence those that are relevant to the equality and diversity agenda.  In particular, VONNE is closely watching the new Equality & Human Rights Commission which was formed on 1 October 2007.
