Valuing People Now
As the collective voice for third sector learning disability providers in the North East, NETS(work) has been invited to work with the Valuing People Now Regional team to help drive forward changes in the region. There are many opportunities to get involved for NETS(work) members, in the various interest groups. The calendar of VPN meetings can be found to the right of this page. If you would like to represent NETS(work) on one of these groups, contact Jo Whaley and/or a steering group member who will be able to support you in taking shared issues from and to the NETS(work) membership. News from the VPN groups will be shared on this webpage so watch this space...
Regional VPN Programme Board
Currently Nick Ball and Chris Irwin represent NETS(work) at the Board meetings.
The Regional VPN Programme Board collected statistics about progress against VPN targets in all the local authorities in the North East. Information collated includes number of people (known to services) with a learning disability, number in employment, types of accommodation, number of people with direct payments and how local authority spending is broken down etc. This may be useful to NETS(work) members in their planning processes.
Key Statistics of Interest to NETS(work) Members- for the whole region
