Learning and Skills
The North East Voluntary and Community Sector Learning Consortia were established following the launch of the Working Together strategy by the Learning and Skills Council. 'Working Together' was launched in May 2004 for the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) and the Learning and Skills Council (LSC). It recognises the Voluntary and Community sector as a provider of learning which can engage hard to reach learners as well as being an employer with skill needs for trustees, paid and unpaid staff.
Working Together aims to:-
- improve relations between the LSC and VCS
- provide VCS with more access to LSC funding
- learn from each other's expertise whilst improving communication channels
