Working With Offenders
VONNE has been providing infrastructure support to voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations supporting offenders, their families and the community for the last seven years. During this time there has been a growing recognition from local authority agencies, partnerships and the Prison and Probation Services of the importance of the VCS and the range of services they can provide for offenders. VONNE chaired the Children and Families Pathway of the North East Regional Reducing Re-offending Strategy between 2004 and 2010, leading the development of strategic interventions and actions that sought to improve provision for these groups. VONNE now represents the VCS on the Regional Forum and Board for the Regional Strategy.
On behalf of VONNE, Barefoot Research and Evaluation coordinates a network for VCS agencies working with offenders, ex-offenders and their families, which is free to join for VCS organisations:
