Regional Infrastructure North East
Vision for the North East
To improve infrastructure services for frontline organisations to ensure that all Third Sector groups throughout the region are able to meet their own potential and to fully contribute to social, environmental and economic development of the region.
Infrastructure is a term which is used in the sector for second tier organisations which help frontline organisations deliver their services more effectively. Infrastructure organisations provide support to voluntary and community organisations at regional, sub-regional and local levels. As the regional infrastructure organisation for the sector, VONNE plays a vital role in co-ordinating infrastructure funding streams, advocating for the sector and liaising with funding providers over developing funding strategies and programmes.
The ChangeUp Infrastructure Programme was introduced to the region at the end of 2004 and VONNE commissioned research and developed a consortium to map the needs and allocate the funding programme.
