The contribution made by the voluntary and community sector in the city of Sunderland has a significant impact on our local communities. VCS services, activities, resources and volunteers provide a raft of opportunities that enrich lives throughout the city. Recent challenges and developments in Sunderland’s Voluntary Sector has initiated a need for a fresh new dialogue about the future of the sector and how it will be best supported and developed to ensure a more dynamic and sustainable future in the City.
To be able to understand how the Voluntary and Community Sector in Sunderland can be supported to provide for a more vibrant, effective, resilient and resourceful sector; VCAS (Voluntary and Community Action Sunderland) VONNE (Voluntary Organisations’ Network North East), Sunderland City Council and Sunderland All Together Better Alliance have worked with a steering group of local organisations to create this event for the sector to come together and share their views, concerns and vision.
We will hear from a small number of speakers and have two discussion sessions:
1) Where are we now? What's working and what's not?
2) The Art of the Possible - How do we achieve a thriving and vibrant voluntary and community sector for Sunderland?
Places are limited and capped at two per organisation please as we want to engage with as many organisations as possible.
