Our Social Tech Meets promote the adoption of new ways of thinking and doing using digital technologies through cross sector collaboration. Join colleagues from across the digital technology and voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors to hear from invited speakers, share challenges and learning, and make new contacts. All over a drink and some pizza.


VONNE is part funded via the Innovation SuperNetwork by the European Regional Development which includes the Catalysing Innovation in North East Clusters project, which is receiving up to £1.24m of funding from the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government is the Managing Authority for European Regional Development Fund. Established by the European Union, the European Regional Development Fund helps local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support innovation, businesses, create jobs and local community regenerations. Laura Richards, Communications Manager, Changing Lives

Laura is Communications Manager at Changing Lives, a nationwide charity helping people facing challenging times to make positive change - for good. 

With several years’ experience of working in the tech sector, she is particularly interested in how technology can be used to support delivery of vital services and how we can work collaboratively to ensure that new technologies are inclusive by design.


Clara Crivellaro, Research Fellow, Newcastle University Open Lab Not Equal Programme

Clara is a research fellow at Newcastle University's Open Lab researching the role of design and technology for local democracy and social justice. She is the lead investigator on the UKRI £1.2million Not Equal Network+ Programme.  Not Equal funds research projects which address three core critical challenges: digital security, algorithmic social justice and fairer futures for businesses and workforce. 

Clara will be speaking about the latest call for projects, bringing together businesses, public sector and not for profits with researchers in 2020.
