VONNE have partnered with NHS colleagues to offer access to this special one-off webinar for unpaid carers across the North East, North Cumbria, and Yorkshire where we will highlight what the NHS Peer Leadership Development Programme is and what it can do for you. We'll focus on how you can learn more about engaging and influencing local health and care services, and ultimately help you to advocate with more confidence for your needs, the needs of the person you care for, and to help change the system.

The NHS Peer Leadership Development Programme for Carers has been designed by people with lived experience (those living with a long-term condition, and/or carers), for people with lived experience, therefore the content is relevant, current and easily digestible. It is completely free to access with three ‘steps’ enabling you to choose how far you progress.

The programme provides people with lived experience with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to engage and influence health and care services to improve outcomes for themselves and within the wider system.

The webinar will run for an hour, with plenty of time for questions, and we are lucky to be joined by an existing Peer Leader Gina Walker who will describe her journey with the programme and how that has helped her to affect positive change.

The learning session is free to attend and open to unpaid carers from across the North East, North Cumbria and Yorkshire. It will take place online via Zoom on Tuesday, 14th March, 12:00pm - 1:00pm.

The deadline for registrations is Monday 13th March.
