The theme for VONNE’s conference 2017 is The Future of Civil Society: A North East Perspective and we are delighted to announce our Keynote Speaker will be Julia Unwin CBE, Chair of the Independent Inquiry into Civil Society Futures.
We will be incorporating a Civil Society Futures Conversation within the conference, which will feed into the Inquiry’s call for evidence and recommendations.
IPPR North will also be launching their report Civil Society Support in the North at the conference.
This year we are introducing a small charge for the conference to cover costs of hosting the event, however the AGM is and will remain free to all members.
We will also be hosting a First Time Trustee workshop at 4pm following the conference.

Newcastle University are committed to forming strong links with community groups and voluntary sector organisations as we have a key part to play in the heart of the region as a Civic University. Newcastle University wants to build more relationships with voluntary groups and social enterprises to help foster regional growth, sustainability and social advancement.
Brewin Dolphin’s North East Charities Team is proud to once again support the VONNE Conference. The work of VONNE and its members is essential to the North East and as charities play an increasingly important role in the community, we believe it is imperative companies like ours support their outstanding efforts.
Through our work with many leading local charities to help them grow their money, we are very aware how important the civil society is to our community. The VONNE conference is a fantastic opportunity to come together and discuss the future of our region.
