Clinks members receive access to funding portal

Are you a Clinks member? Did you know members can get unlimited access to our funding portal? Education Services Procurement

Clinks and the Prisoner Learning Alliance would like to hear about your experiences of using the new online procurement system for education services, also known as the Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS). We will use this to monitor how the DPS is working in practice, and feedback to Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service. Please tell us about your experience of using the DPS, including how you have found getting on to the DPS system; how you have found responding to call outs for services; and any benefits/disadvantages to the system. NE Criminal Justice Forum
10th July, 10am - 3pm, Gateshead

Come along to hear the latest local and national developments in criminal justice, and use your experiences to inform Clinks’ national policy work. The forums allow you to step back from your crucial day-to-day front-line work to see the bigger picture and context in which you are working.

The forum will provide an update from the Clink's policy team and there will also be an opportunity to hear the challenges and opportunities facing voluntary sector organisation's from across the North East. What a busy and exciting month it has been. The latest criminal justice forum was a huge success and provided a real opportunity for cross sector working. You can read more in my blog. I have been on the road a lot this month meeting members and planning future partnership working. I always welcome the chance to support members so do get in touch if you have anything you would like to discuss.

The MEAM annual confence was a great opportunity to hear about the progress of local MEAM approach networks and commissioing in a complex environment. I have supported Redcar MEAM network to think about their vision for the next year and look forward to working with them going forward.

This week I had a rare opportunity to take a few days out and look at how we will implement our new Clinks strategy. I have always known how passionate a value driven everybody who works at Clinks is but after spending 48 hours together it really brings it home. Sometimes being a remote worker can make you feel isolated so staff gatherings become even more important.

Hilden Charitable Fund
Deadline: 15th May 2019

In the UK, Hilden’s grantmaking priorities are as follows:
• Homelessness.
• Penal affairs.
• Asylum seekers and refugees.
• Community-based initiatives for disadvantaged young people aged 16 to 25.

Fund policy is directed largely at supporting work at a community level; preference is given to charities with an income of less than £200,000 per year.

Leeds Building Society Charitable Foundation
Deadline: 12th June 2019

Leeds Building Society Foundation primarily provides funding towards practical items that directly support those in need including those with disabilities, affected by homelessness, or with serious health issues.

Only those areas served by its branches are eligible which, in the North East, include Blyth, Chester-le-Street, Durham, Morpeth, Newcastle upon Tyne, North Shields, South Shields, Tynemouth, Wallsend and Whitley Bay.

Donations usually fund items of "capital expenditure" i.e. items must directly help those in need, rather than contributing to the charity's running costs. In 2017 136 grants were awarded, totalling £133,277 were made.

Durham Teesvalley Probation Report

Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Probation has given Durham and Tees Valley Community Rehabilitation Company an overall rating of ‘requires improvement’. Leadership was found to be outstanding and organisational delivery was found to be generally good but case supervision was rated as inadequate or requiring improvement, as was through-the-gate work.
