We really enjoyed being part of this year's Tees Valley Nature Conference - a celebration of the partnerships and hard work that has taken place across the region and looking ahead to future plans. It was clear to see that nature recovery is becoming a priority for Tees Valley, which is really great to see.  

Thousands of people across the North East will soon have access to more EV charging points to help develop the region's green travel further.

An update report has been published that outlines the progress made in protecting and managing at least 30% of the land and sea in the UK for nature. A goal vital to avoiding irreversible harm to wildlife and our ways of life.

£5000– Deadline 20th October

This fund is supporting local groups, charities and projects keep doing the amazing work they do. 

If you’re based in one or delivering projects within one of the seven Stanley parish wards, this fund will support a broad range of projects and activities based around the following themes: 

- Encourage regeneration 

- Support environmental stewardship 

- Improve opportunities for children and young people  

- Develop and maintain community facilities 

Deadline 12 noon on 20th October

This available funding is for community gardens in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It hopes to aid multiple projects to grow their gardens and widen access to green space and garden learning.

£500,000 to 5,000,000 – extended deadline to 17th December

The fund has a commitment to help communities become environmentally sustainable and are looking for bold projects that engage more people in this lasting change.

Up to £25,000. Deadline – 8^th October

The Green Community Grants Programme offers one-year flexible funding.

To be eligible for funding, you must have been operating for a minimum of 12 months, and your organisation's main aims and objectives must fit with one of the two funding themes:

- Contributing to nature recovery and responding to the climate emergency

- Improving nature-rich spaces and access to them

Whilst your organisational aims and objectives should fit one of these two themes, funding can also be used for a wider range of sustainable activities, including recycling, litter picking, beach cleans or sustainable transport.
