European Social Fund Opportunity and Information Event

Closing Date for applications is 4th December 2017.

An ESF Open Call has been launched to fund projects focused on providing specialist, well targeted and integrated support to those with multiple barriers and complex needs in the North East LEP area.
The call is for projects to deliver one or more of three strands of activities:
  • Employment support for those with Protected Characteristics
  • Employment support for workless housing tenants
  • Employment support for offenders and ex-offenders
The nature and range of barriers to the labour market they face can require specialist and integrated support. This call looks to address the multiple factors that contribute to social exclusion and deprivation, impacting on economic growth.

For further information about the Funding opportunity and to download the specification click here.
The project must cover the North East LEP area including the Transition area of Durham and the More Developed area of Northumberland, Tyne & Wear.

Triangle Trust Call for Applications

Deadline for applications is 2nd November 2017.

The triangle trust offers funding for specialist community and voluntary organisations working with carers or the rehabilitation of offenders or ex-offenders within the UK.
The Triangle Trust recognises in the current economic climate, building a solid foundation for long-term sustainability for your organisation can be of higher importance than starting a new project.  To support this they offer development grants to provide funds towards your organisation’s core costs.

Health and Care survey

The survey will close on Friday 20th October.

Clinks wants to hear your views on health and wellbeing for people in contact with the criminal justice system, the services available to them, and priorities for change.
The short survey includes questions about the work you do, the health and wellbeing of your beneficiaries, and how to improve health and care services. Many of the questions have come directly from policy teams at the Department of Health, NHS England and Public Health England. Clinks will use the information you give us to influence key health and justice policy makers.

NEPACS awards for work in Crime Reduction in the North East

NEPACS held their 13th awards ceremony to celebrate the hard work of individuals, teams and organisations in the north east for helping prisoners or ex-offenders to resettle in the community and rebuild their lives.
Helen Attewell, Chief Executive of NEPACS, said: “The difficulties of working within the prison system have been clearly highlighted by the media in recent months.  The challenges faced by prison-based staff are mirrored in the community, where clients’ problems around substance misuse, mental health, relationship breakdowns and unemployment can continue to put obstacles in the way of fulfilling crime free lives.
Our NEPACS’ awards are a way of paying tribute to the resilience and determination of staff and volunteers working within the criminal justice system who inspire hope for a better future in the people they work with, as well as offering practical support and help.”
Find details of this year’s the winners on the NEPACS website.
