Collaborate with VONNE - reach communities

VONNE is uniquely positioned as the regional support body for North East charities, social enterprises, voluntary and community groups with extensive reach throughout our networks.

We work with the public and private sector to allow them to reach the VCSE sector and the communities they serve. Work ranges from assisting with consultations, running events, targeting key messages through our ebulletins, to larger scale long term programmes of work.

Private Sector collaboration

Some of our key private sector partnerships include working with Northern Powergrid, Sage, Virgin Money, Charity Bank, Trinity Mirror and Northstar Ventures.

Public sector collaboration

Our public sector work is equally as diverse, and includes work with Compact Voice, and being a key strategic partner of Department of Health through our work with Regional Voices.

If you'd like to speak to VONNE about furthering your reach into the North East's communties and VCSE sector please get in touch with Anne Fry, Communications Manager by email or call 0191 2332000.

Case Study: Northern Powergrid

VONNE is proud to be working in partnership with Northern Powergrid in reaching the more vulnerable communities the company serves.

Northern Powergrid manages and maintains the electricity supply network in the North East, Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire serving around eight million people in 3.8 million homes and businesses.

The company has always aimed to provide support during power cuts to those in our communities who are particularly dependent on electricity, such as elderly customers or those with particular health issues. It is now refocusing its work to do more to help individuals and groups who are particularly affected by rising energy prices and power cuts.

VONNE is working with Northern Powergrid to help them connect with voluntary and community organisations with expertise in these areas.

If you are an organisation whose work touches on this area, whether your interest is in supporting rural communities, customers at their most vulnerable during power cuts, addressing fuel poverty, or tackling metal theft and the related safety issues please do get in touch.

Northern Powergrid is currently planning for the 2015 to 2023 period and is very interested to hear thinking on their plans for this period. You can see their plan on the new interactive Your Power Grid website and get in touch directly with them or with VONNE.

"Working with VONNE has really helped us to better understand and connect with the most vulnerable people in the communities we work in and we look forward to continuing this vital partnership."
Siobhan Barton, Head of Communications, Northern Powergrid
