Active Voices short course

Wednesday, 14 February, 2018 - 12:00 to 15:00
St Martins Centre Roman Avenue Newcastle NE6 2RJ

Active Voices is a new short course which aims to develop the skills and knowledge of people who wish to play a part in their communities.

If you attend this free course, you will have the chance to develop new skills, explore a range of interesting and topical issues, carry out practical projects, try new experiences, have some fun and, hopefully, make new friends.

You will have a chance to shape the contents of the course. The course will start with a ‘getting to know  you’ session and an introduction to Active Voices. In the following weeks we will look at ways of influencing decisions in the local community, finding out about what’s going on in the East End of Newcastle, working with other people, communicating our work, and planning a small project.

You won’t have to sit through presentations or slide shows. The course involves practical exercises and lots of discussions. Sometimes you may agree with what is being said. At other times you may disagree. But you will always have a chance to share your views.
