This “Carer and Caring Matters” training programme is thoughtfully crafted to support individuals and organisations involved in delivering social welfare assistance. In the UK, there is an estimated 10.6 million caregivers, equating to one in every five adults. Shockingly, each day, 600 people are forced to relinquish their jobs to provide full-time, unpaid care to a beloved family member. The challenges of being a caregiver are undeniable. Although caregivers save the government an astonishing £350 million daily in expenses, nearly half of them in the UK are grappling with poverty. In a recent survey, 36% of caregivers expressed that their primary hindrance to accessing appropriate support was their lack of knowledge about available services and assistance. Now, more than ever, caregivers require our assistance and support.

- Understand the concepts of Carer’s Allowance, Carer’s Credit, and the Carer’s Element of Universal Credit, and explore their implications on other welfare benefits.

- Recognise methods to identify supplementary assistance for caregivers.
