Are you chairing a charity? Ever wish you could talk to another Chair and or Vice Chair who faces similar challenges and opportunities? Someone who understands the issues, and can share experiences of what did (and didn’t work), or who you can test ideas with? If so, do come along and share your questions and answers with other Chairs.
Our main topic for the evening will be How do I ensure my trustees are effective? We’ve chosen it because it was raised by several Chairs in our first Chair-to-Chair in Newcastle in July. We’ll have some ideas to get you started, and then it’s over to you. There will also be an opportunity to discuss other issues on your mind, and to suggest future topics too.
This peer to peer event is a new approach for us, developed in partnership with Newcastle CVS. The idea is to give Chairs the space to support and learn from each other. So most of the learning comes from each other. We ask you to come ready to share your challenges, your ideas and your learning, and make connections with others in your area who may be able to help. If the approach works well we plan to do more such events.
