This session will explore the practice of community wealth building, a key element in building a fairer and a more socially just economy. Recent policy and media interest in this concept has arisen from recent work by the Centre for Local Economic Strategies and this workshop will also detail this model, showcasing current and past work spanning 12 years in a range of locations.
The session will demonstrate the need for community wealth building strategies, using key economic and social concepts to underpin this theory and highlight the four key aspects to community wealth building. Case studies will also be used to illustrate how to do it.
