This programme of workshops delivered by Enhance The UK will cover a range of issues to help you deliver more accessible digital content and services.
It aims to build knowledge and skills in the region’s VCSE sector so that we can better support disabled people through our online work . Poor accessibility is a disabling barrier which impacts the lives of a vast range of people who have different impairments and health conditions. It can make the difference between getting the information, support and essential services they need, or being isolated and excluded.
Workshop 1 – Introduction to Accessibility
This workshop will cover:
- What is accessibility?
- Principles of accessibility
- Benefits of accessibility
- Accessibility & the law
- How people may access digital content and different formats
- Rooting accessibility into everyday practices
Who Should Attend
Anyone in the North East VCSE sector who provides online services or information. It is especially relevant to those organisations working with disabled people.
Each of the workshops is a stand-alone session. However, we strongly recommend that if you want to attend any of workshops 2, 3 or 4 then you should first attend workshop 1 in order to get a basic grounding in principles of accessibility before progressing.
Each workshop is 2 hours long and will be delivered by Enhance The UK, via Zoom.
