DWP & DHSC Work and Health Consultation: Reducing ill health related job loss

Thursday, 15 August, 2019 - 09:00 to 11:00
Wear View House, 1 Eden Street West, Sunderland, SR1 3EY

About this Event

This event is an opportunity to hear from the Department for Work and Pensions and the Department of Health and Social Care on the consultation document Health is everyone’s business, which sets out a range of measures to reduce ill health-related job loss.

You are invited to take part in an interactive discussion with policy officials on the consultation proposals. We will encourage all views to be fed in formally via our online survey

Many employers already see the case to invest in health and wellbeing. But some employers, particularly smaller ones, might not have the knowledge or time to support their employees with health conditions, even when they want to. This consultation seeks to address these challenges.

The government is putting forward a package of measures which encourage early and supportive action by employers for their employees with health conditions. Taken together, these proposals aim to reduce ill health-related job loss and support people to thrive in work.

This event is an opportunity to learn more about the proposed measures. We welcome your feedback on these proposals to ensure that they are as effective, and cost effective, as possible.

In addition to face-to-face events, there will be the opportunity to hear more about the consultation in a webinar. Please contact us at workandhealthunit.consultationteam@dwp.gov.uk for more information.
