Fundraising: Finance planning and management - the basics of good financial management

Inspire South Tyneside is delighted to announce a series of six, free Zoom fundraising workshops for 2021, delivered by GLT Partners and funded by the DCMS National Emergencies Trust Big Night In Fund at the Community Foundation.

One of the common complaints from funders is the poor quality of supporting financial information and project budgeting in funding applications. This session will explore how to present your financial data in a fundraising application and avoid the common mistakes applicants make. It will cover cash flow, management reports, project budgets and liabilities. This session would also be useful for people new to financial reporting or Trustees who want to cover the finance basics.

The workshops are free to charitable organisations based or working in South Tyneside. Aimed at smaller to medium sized organisations, the workshops will equip people new to fundraising with the basic skills you need to be successful. The series will concentrate on making applications to trusts and foundations, whilst giving you a good understanding of how to sell your organisation effectively. The workshops will also act as a refresher for more experienced people who wish to broaden their understanding or strengthen their applications.
