Gateshead Council successfully bid for £2.2m of European funding. This money will be targeted at specific areas in Gateshead that are within the 20% most deprived places in the UK and are facing serious disadvantage.
The overall aim of the project is to build a local response to the three primary issues of:
Supporting people furthest from the labour market towards employment.
Enhancing the resources and capacity for community led responses to development.
Supporting the development of new and existing businesses to increase employment opportunities in the area, and improve business resilience.
Achieving the above aims will be made possible by focussing on key areas and the development of specific activities to address these.
These workshops are designed to give an insight on the application and bidding processes for prospective organisations who are interested in bidding for CLLD monies.
