An event exploring the North East's tech-for-good sector and its positive impact on our community as well as potential funding options
The challenges facing our region’s most deprived communities continue to grow; pressure on charities and voluntary organisations is mounting daily, and all the while financial support for essential services is shrinking.
Tonight’s event, hosted by Donr, asks what role technology - and in particular the tech-for-good community - can play in supporting charities to operate more effectively, to help maximise their impact with their limited resources.
In particular, we’ll be exploring ways to grow the tech for good ecosystem within our region, with speakers and panellists addressing such questions as:
- How can people-powered finance grow the tech-for-good sector?
- Why should commercial entrepreneurs enter the tech-for-good space?
- Finance? Mentors? What’s needed for an effective tech-for-good ecosystem?
You’ll also hear directly from the founder and team from Donr, who are currently scaling a tech-for-good business, servicing 1500+ charities from their HQ in Newcastle upon Tyne.
