Life after lockdown: predicting the unpredictable - a charity special

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, many organisations have been understandably focused on stabilising cashflow. As restrictions start to be eased, organisations will begin to look to the future and plan for recovery. For this reason, UNW law firm invite you to join “Life After Lockdown” – a mini-series of free webinars, dedicated to supporting you into the next phase of this crisis.

As the government offers more clarity on what life will look like post-lockdown, it is important for organisations to consider the specific issues they might face. This webinar is charity-specific and will be hosted by Anne Hallowell, Charity and Not-for-Profit partner at UNW. She will be offering her insight into a series of factors that could affect your non-profit as the UK eases restrictions.

Anne will present on a variety of topics, including the importance of planning; this includes making assumptions, such as the bounce back of income streams or the unavailability of volunteers with which to work. As these will be unpredictable, organisations need to plan for a variety of scenarios, understand key decision points, and be prepared to take swift action as things become clearer.

The session will also explore the key timeframes that organisations need to work to, including bringing back furloughed staff, applying for additional funding, and when they are may be able to reopen or resume normal service. As well as this, Anne will look at decision making between the Board and staff, and how traditional cycles of reporting and decision making may need to be adapted.

The webinar will finish off with a section on financial reporting, and what additional considerations and disclosures should feature as part of year.
