About this event

Human Learning Systems (HLS) is a radically new way of doing public management: the task of resourcing and organising public service. This NET x HLS three part event series will introduce you to Human Learning Systems, give you time to listen and learn from other and let you have a go with the new learning cycles toolkit.

Event 2 of 3: Deeper exploration and rummaging: detailed case studies to learn what others did and how, ask questions, focus in on the detail

Book your place https://netxhls_event2exploration.eventbrite.co.uk.

The three speakers are

  • Becky Elton, Deputy CEO, Changing Lives
  • Ceri Armstrong, Strategic Lead – Adult Social Care and Health Transformation, Thurrock Council
  • Mark Smith, Director – Public Service Reform, Gateshead Council

You'll hear detailed case studies from organisations already working in a Human Learning Systems way or embarking on their HLS journey to learn what they did and how, ask questions, and get in to the detail including

  • How did you start?
  • What have you done so far? Your learning cycles/experiments
  • What happened? For you, your organisation, the system you work in, the people you serve. What was expected? What was unexpected?
  • What’s your learning?

North East Together x Human Learning Systems event series

You can come to one, two or all three events.

These events will be for those feeling frustrated with how things with public service (in its broadest sense) work, and looking to do things differently. It will give you time and inspiration to rethink how you work. This is for you if you work with people to help them live good lives. It's for you if you work in the voluntary, charity or social enterprise sector, public sector or are interested in services for people being run well and helping not harming the people they are for.

The Human Learning Systems learning cycles toolkit will give you more on learning cycles and how to use them in your team and organisation. And there's more on learning cycles in the free e-book Human Learning Systems: Public service for the real world.
