North East Together event 17: Climate change: a collaborative response

Thursday, 10 October, 2019 - 16:15 to 20:15
Partners Room, Floor 8, Newcastle University Business School

North East Together is the network for leaders of social change in the North East offering a series of quarterly events where leaders can hear from inspirational speakers who provide new insight into social change, and meet one another, and begin to collaborate.. October’s network for social leadership event on climate change, the defining challenge for us all right now.

We will focus on our collective response to climate change. This includes what we can do to minimise our own negative impact on climate change; how we can increase the resilience of organisations to respond to the affects of climate change; and, starting to think together how we will need to respond to the affects of climate change on the people we all work with, particularly vulnerable people and those marginalised and excluded by society.

This event is for everyone not just those who have an interest in climate change, green issues or the environment. We know, as climate change continues to worsen, the impact will be disproportionately faced by young people ie those who will hold leadership roles in the future. We need to work collaboratively across the generations to do our best to reduce the negative impacts of climate change and prepare our organisations for a challenging future. And, because of this, October’s event continues the leadership and young/younger leadership thread from February and June’s events.

As before, it will be interactive event with time for you to reflect on the theme of the night, take part in group discussions, and meet other North East Together members through guided, and informal, networking.
