Did you know only three per cent of charity trustees are under the age of 30? Join Community Foundation Tyne & Wear and Northumberland, in partnership with The Young Trustees Movement, to explore how small charities can lead the way in changing this statistic for the better.
Part of Small Charity Week North East 2021, which this year is focused on inclusion, this event will help further the movement's mission to double the number of young trustees in charity boardrooms by 2024, because we all know diversity sits at the heart of good governance.
The session will explore:
- why diversity matters on the trustee boards of small charities
- what benefits appointing a young trustee can bring
- how small charities can get started on the journey towards sustainable young trusteeship.
Whether you're a member of staff or a board member at a small charity, you're invited to bring your questions, insights, experiences and apprehensions to this workshop, so participants can learn from one another and work together to change the face of charity governance.
