Working safely with children online in faith-based and community settings

Wednesday, 1 December, 2021 - 14:00 to 15:30
Online

This NSPCC learning event will cover how to work safely with children in faith-based and community settings.

During the pandemic, work with children and young people has increasingly moved online. Whether contact is happening online or face-to-face, everyone has a responsibility to work safely with children and families. How do you ensure your work with children online demonstrates good safeguarding practice? This online learning event will include information and discussion on:

  • the advantages and risks when working online
  • putting online safety measures in place
  • dealing with disclosures
  • where to get further resources and support
  • as well as giving you an opportunity to learn from the experience of others

The session is open to those with a safeguarding role or who work with children and young people in faith-based and community settings.

It will be led by Shirley Maginley (NSPCC Senior Consultant, Faith & Minority Ethnic Communities) and Cate Meredith (NSPCC Senior Consultant, Voluntary & Community Sector) via Zoom.
