Active Families Project Worker, Active Families, Bishop Auckland
22.2 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only)
Grade 2 (upper): £17,473.50 - £19,245.75 per annum pro rata
Fixed Term Contract / Secondment until July 2021 with the possibility of extension for one year
Family Action are launching an exciting new programme on increasing the activity levels of local families. Funded by Sport England, the programme will deliver positive experiences to children and families through a programme of weekly activities and support.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident person to deliver the Active Families project in Bishop Auckland. You will need to be qualified to a level three or above with a recognised professional qualification in social work, health, leisure, education or equivalent and have excellent communication and organisational skills. Working as part of the Active Families team, the successful candidate will plan and facilitate active sessions and provide nutritious hot meals to families. You will lead on project delivery, to ensure the project delivers quality interventions and embeds sustainable outcomes. You will assist the Project Manager to recruit and supervise volunteers to support the Active Families project.
Candidates must be available to work on a Wednesday and Thursday until 6pm. Travel around Bishop Auckland, to different schools and community centres will be required. Access to your own transport would be greatly beneficial.
