Active Friends Administration Assistant


14 hours per week, £17, 290 per annum (pro rata)


1 Year Fixed Term Contract


Required to provide administration support to AUKS Active Friends project to ensure access to leisure/learning activities for residents in the City of Sunderland within sheltered housing accommodation. You must have excellent I.T., communication and organisational skills. You must be an experienced administrator to ensure the smooth running of all administrative aspects of the service.

Possess a clean driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes

Job Description



Post:                          Active Friends Administration Assistant

Responsible to:     Client Services Manager



Job Purpose:


To undertake all administrative duties related to the Active Friends Service to ensure access to leisure/learning activities for residents in the City of Sunderland and within sheltered housing accommodation.


Main Responsibilities:


Provide general administration support to the Active Friends project.


  • Accurately and efficiently set up and input Active Friends data into databases/Charitylog and other Microsoft Office software


  • Ensure all data is kept up to date and entered into databases and other software systems in a timely manner


  • Effectively maintain filing systems, assist in the setting up of rooms and co-ordination of room booking requirements


  • Answer telephone, email and face to face enquiries from clients and staff and partner organisations, take accurate messages and pass on information in an appropriate time frame


  • Assist with the enrolment process, evaluations and subsequent administrative tasks for Active Friends


  • To support partnership working within sheltered accommodation/extra care schemes in Sunderland to maintain excellent communications with clients and scheme managers.


  • Word process letters, reports and meeting minutes


  • Liaise with finance team as required


  • Act as a safeguarding alerter


  • To perform any other duties as requested by the Director

  • The post holder will ensure they accurately represent Age UK Sunderland and ensure the values of Age UK Sunderland are upheld at all times in carrying out their work


  • The post holder must work in general accordance with the organisation’s policies and guidelines at all times.
