Carers Northumberland is seeking to appoint an Activity Worker to help deliver activities, groups and opportunities to young carers up to the age of 18 years. The post is 20 hours per week and will be based at our office in Ashington with some flexibility for home working due to the present circumstances.
The role requires a motivated, enthusiastic individual who is able to demonstrate experience of working with children, young people and their families and an understanding of the issues that young carers face. You must also have experience of planning and delivering group sessions and arranging events and activities for young people. You will also support the Young Carers Support Coordinator to develop the Young Carers Service. Applicants must be competent in the use of IT including website content and social media. The postholder will be required to travel to groups and events throughout Northumberland and due to the nature of the county own transport is needed. The post will require some evening and weekend work and a flexible approach is required.
This post is fixed term to 30 June 2022 in the first instance, with a view to continuation depending on the success of the project and funding availability. The post is currently funded by the Masonic Charitable Foundation.
