Victim Support is looking for a part time Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) worker to provide emotional and practical support to victims of ASB in the South Tyneside area. Based in South Shields Town Hall, you will deliver the support via phone and face to face appointments/home visits. As well as casework, you will also assist with the supervision and support of our small team of ASB volunteers who help provide the service. It can be challenging for people coping with ASB (eg consistent & disruptive noise, intimidation by neighbours, possibly not feeling safe in your own home - all having a negative impact on victims' physical and mental wellbeing) and this role is about improving the quality of life for people in this situation.
To be successful in this role, you'll have experience of delivering a support service and working directly with clients in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting; have IT skills in order to maintain case records and produce activity reports; the ability to communicate with and liaise with external agencies such as the police, housing providers and council officers; have compassion, empathy and listening skills; and the ability to work without daily on site management.
The post is for 22.5 hours per week and hours can be worked flexibly across weekdays.
