Edberts House is a thriving community charity currently managing four community projects based in Gateshead - 3 place-based community projects and also our Community Linking Project. We work together with local residents of all ages to make our communities happier, healthier and more welcoming places to live.

Over the last year we have been working with local people in the Beacon Lough East estate and a range of partners on plans to bring new opportunities to the area. Following a successful bid to The National Lottery Community Fund we now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Community Development Worker to join our team. You will work alongside local residents and practitioners from a range of agencies to support the capacity of local people and to develop community infrastructure and support. You will also be responsible for the operational management of community premises within the area.

Candidates will have substantial community development experience, a passion for supporting people experiencing complex issues, will be excellent communicators, have management experience and able to work in an innovative multi-disciplinary team.

An enhanced DBS is required for this post.
