We are seeking a passionate Catering Assistant to help us establish our new Refreshments Kiosk at Hexham Bus Station. We want you to use your exceptional people skills to serve refreshments to the local community while supporting clients to overcome barriers to employment.
Journey Enterprises provides life-skills and employability training for adults with intellectual disability. Clients play a key part in the success of local enterprise initiatives, using the experience as a stepping stone to employment.
You will work alongside adults with learning disabilities and provide a unique opportunity to practise employment skills in a supported environment. With the guidance of a Catering Supervisor, you will support clients to build their skills and provide exceptional customer service to maintain and develop the kiosks’ reputation locally.
Attitude is everything for this role. While experience in a support role or in customer service is desired, we welcome applicants from any background who feel they are ready to make a difference and play a key part in shaping the charity’s enterprises.
The normal working pattern is:
Hexham Rail Station Kiosk 07.00-14.30 Wednesday and Thursday
Hexham Bus Station Kiosk 08:00-17:00 Friday and alternate Saturdays 10:00-14:30
Our ideal applicant will have:
experience working in catering or hospitality;
lived or working experience of supporting people with disabilities and/or complex needs;
a person-centred approach, valuing customers and being inclusive of all;
flexibility with working hours.
