We help people gain confidence skills, get into training and work, protect and improve green spaces, lead more active lives and overcome significant challenges such as poverty, isolation, low skills and poor health.
The Chair is a trustee elected by the Board who is responsible for ensuring that the Board is effective in its role as the governing body of Groundwork NE & Cumbria, and is expected to work closely with the other Board Trustees and the CEO to achieve this.
As the Chair of our Board you will be passionate about improving the lives of people across the North East and Cumbria and making a real positive difference to the communities we work with.
Whatever your professional background, you will be willing to engage fully not just in board meetings but also use any specific skills, knowledge or experience they have to help the board of trustees reach sound decisions. This will involve scrutinising board papers, leading discussions, focusing on key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, or other issues in which the chair has special expertise.
This is an unpaid role however reasonable expenses will be paid for travel to meetings and agreed out of pocket expenditure.
