Tell Us North (TUN) is a Community Interest Company (CIC) in the North East of England that creates opportunities to involve people in shaping improvements that impact on health and wellbeing.
TUN currently holds the contracts for Healthwatch Newcastle (HWN) and Healthwatch Gateshead (HWG), ensuring the successful delivery of both statutory organisations and its functions. Its main contracts are the successful delivery of HWN and HWG contracts.
This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate wishing to work with the board and committee chairs on a restructuring programme that would take everyone to the next level towards new opportunities.
The Chief Executive will work with the TUN Board as well as the HWN and HWG Committees. Clear working relationship with the Chairs will be a key factor in determining the success of both TUN and Healthwatch.
We are seeking an experienced senior manager to provide strong and inspirational leadership and direction to TUN, HWN and HWG. The post holder will not only be an experienced strategic thinker but will be confident at developing and maintaining high-level relationships and exerting influence.
The Chief Executive Officer will be a self-starter, well-organised and an excellent communicator. They will be able to demonstrate attention to detail and experience of delivering high profile projects. A key part of the role is developing and maintaining high-level relationships and they should be experienced at working at a strategic level with decision-makers.
The Chief Executive will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the health and social care sector and its structures and the policy issues affecting the NHS, Newcastle City Council and Gateshead Council. They should have experience of working with a committee/board.
- To provide strong, leadership and direction to the contracts TUN delivers, with reference to Healthwatch Gateshead (HWG) and or Healthwatch Newcastle (HWN).
- To be accountable to the TUN Board for the delivery of these contracts.
- To work with the HWN and HWG Committees, particularly the chairs to achieve the organisations strategic and business objectives.
- To deliver the Healthwatch vision by listening to and learning from users and potential users of health and care services, across our diverse communities and by ensuring the voices, views, experiences are heard by the relevant service providers and commissioners. This can be done at all relevant health and care decision-making levels.
