Coping with Cancer North East was founded in 1982 as a support group for those coping with cancer in the North East.  We have since grown to become one of the leading cancer charities in the region.

We support anyone who has been touched by cancer when it is most needed; at diagnosis, during treatment and in end of life situations.

We offer a variety of services at different venues in the North East. The services are run by volunteers and are all free of charge to the users. Our services include:

  • Acupuncture
  • Complementary Therapy
  • Counselling

We are seeking a forward thinking and innovative Chief Executive Officer to help Coping with Cancer North East deliver the strongest possible impact to anyone who has been touched by cancer in the North East.

The Chief Executive Officer will lead the organisation, providing strategic leadership, vision and direction to enable us to fulfil our vision, mission and strategic goals.

The key challenges facing the new post holder will be:

  • Maintaining sustainability in an uncertain funding environment;
  • Review of all current contractual relationships and running expenses;
  • Develop the social media presence and build brand awareness of Coping with Cancer North East
