We offer a range of therapeutic and support services for children, young people and families affected by domestic violence and abuse, in North Tyneside and Northumberland.
This is an exciting opportunity to deliver counselling/play therapy for children and young people aged 4-18 years who have been affected by domestic abuse, at locations in schools and children’s centres throughout Northumberland, as part of a wider provision that aims to offer flexible, trauma informed interventions to hard to reach young people in rural areas. You will have a diploma in counselling, play therapy or equivalent, ideally at least 2 years post qualification experience with substantial proven practice hours and be skilled in working therapeutically with children and young people aged 4-18 years. It is desirable that you are a driver with your own vehicle due to the flexible nature of the post and the travelling requirements.
This post is for 22 hours per week - days and times are flexible and to be discussed. This is a fixed term post until 31st March 2021 with a possibility of an extension dependant on funding.
We offer person centred therapy, however we welcome applications from counsellors who are trained in additional therapeutic interventions which may add value to our offer to children and young people.
Closing date for applications is Friday 17th April. Interviews will take place the week commencing 27th April.
