Do you hold NVQ level 3 / GCSE/ degree level / or equivalent qualification relevant to the role (English, Media) with evidence to support? Do you hold previous experience in a communications, digital or media environment?
Do you have evidence of producing high-quality media relations and social media content for different audiences – writing is an essential element of the job and all applicants must be able to demonstrate outstanding writing skills? Do you have experience of managing a wide range of projects at any one time and being a self-starter? Do you have evidence of creating content for social media platforms and ability to understand their associated benefits and analytics?
Do you have commitment to detail, ensuring all work is accurate, concise and understandable? Do you have the ability to communicate with a range of different audiences across the full range of communications in an appropriate and engaging style? Do you have good working knowledge of IT packages including Microsoft Office and relevant media and design software?

Changing Lives is a national charity that supports over 14,500 people each year. We are a well-respected, growing organisation dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable people across the UK.
We began as a soup run supporting people who were homeless in the North East over 45 years ago, and are proud to still have our main base and central office in the North East. Since 1970, our services have grown and developed to support people experiencing a wide range of personal challenges, including addiction and recovery programmes, employment guidance, help for people in prison or on probation, and support for people experiencing sexual exploitation or domestic abuse.

About the job
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual who will help Changing Lives to continue to build its brand and reputation as a respected charitable voice in the field of social exclusion and multiple disadvantage.
This role primarily focuses on supporting and delivering the media relations and digital/social media areas of communications, and no two days are the same.
We have 135+ projects across the North, Yorkshire and Midlands, which focus on supporting people in the following areas:
- Housing and Homelessness Services
- Drug and Alcohol Services
- Employment Services
- Women and Children’s Services
You will be involved in delivering a wide range of strategic and practical communications activity, all aimed at building the profile and reputation of Changing Lives nationally.
The role includes: helping launch and communicate new projects through media relations, online and social media; organising events and briefings; supporting our major campaigns through media relations and social media activity; creating compelling content about our work to help build profile for Changing Lives among important external audiences – while also focused on providing excellent communications service to our internal stakeholders and teams.
