The Bridge Young Carers Service provides support to young carers and their families. Through our work with The Young Carers Neighbourhood Charter we empower services, schools and communities to build stronger neighbourhoods for children and young people with caring responsibilities.  We aim to ensure that young carers have the support they need to: be healthy, strong, safe and fulfill their potential.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident person to deliver the Young Carers Neighbourhood Charter project. You will need to be qualified to a level three or above with a recognised professional qualification in social work, health, education or equivalent and have excellent communication and organisational skills. Working as part of the Young Carers team, the successful candidate will help schools, services and community groups to gain: Young Carers Charter status. You will provide Charter consultation, training and support and co-produce written evaluations across County Durham. The role requires travel across County Durham and so a willingness to be mobile and use own vehicle is essential.

We are forward looking, ambitious and with a commitment to continuous improvement.  We are a people focused, can-do organisation, which strives for excellence in all we do and operate with mutual respect. If you share these values and behaviours and have the necessary skills then we look forward to hearing from you.

Appointments are subject to Family Action receiving an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service that we consider acceptable.

Our Values: People Focus, Mutual Respect, Excellence in all we do and a Can Do attitude.

If you can relate to these and have the necessary skills and attitude we can offer you:

  • A competitive salary, leave entitlement and pension scheme.
  • Career development opportunities.
  • A full induction and on-going quality training.
  • The opportunity to become part of national Family Action initiatives.
  • Managed workloads and regular supportive and reflective supervision.
