Family Gateway is an award-winning family support charity working in some of the most disadvantaged communities of the North East of England.

We are looking to recruit an experienced, highly organised and enterprising manager to oversee our Howdon Community Hub. Family Gateway manages Howdon Community Hub in Wallsend, with the aim of transforming it into one of many Family and Community Enterprise Hubs, providing high quality accessible services to local people. We have secured funding to improve the building and have ambitious plans to develop it further. The surplus generated from the activities and enterprises in the Hub will be reinvested in the building and into the community through the core work of our charity.

We are seeking to appoint a motivated and experienced individual with a passion for quality, experience in overseeing community buildings and an enterprising approach to community engagement. You will have a flexible approach and a professional attitude with excellent communication, staff development and customer service skills. You will have proven experience of managing a community building or similar and will ideally be experienced in project management and in developing community activities and projects. You will have a sound knowledge of the essential components of managing, running and developing a safe, welcoming, vibrant community building.
