About us: Family Gateway is an award-winning family support charity working in some of the most disadvantaged communities of the North East of England. Our Barefoot Professional approach means that we employ people with lived experience of poverty and disadvantage to support whole families who are struggling with a range of complex needs and have barriers to working with other services and agencies.
As we grow our offer and increase our support for the most vulnerable families, young people and children in our communities, we are mindful of the need to achieve the highest level of supervision and management of our team of Family Entrepreneurs.
About the role: We are seeking to appoint an experienced and professional manager to a new post of Family Support Team Leader to support our Family Support Manager. The role is all about building a high performing team through individual and peer supervision, staff development, quality assurance in respect of safeguarding and case file management, and working closely with stakeholders to develop and deliver projects that have a strong social impact.
The person we are looking for: We are looking to recruit an experienced, highly organised, highly professional individual with excellent management and supervision skills, as well as an ability to work with a range of stakeholders to generate referrals for our work and share our impact.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience in leading teams of frontline workers, including managing caseloads, carrying out timely and effective supervision, overseeing safeguarding processes, carrying out quality audits and managing a range of family support programmes.
You will have excellent communication skills, a high level of resilience, an ability to work under pressure and good understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable families and disadvantaged communities.
You will be self-motivated and will be able to evidence a strong work ethic and understanding of, and affinity to, our work in reducing poverty and improving life chances for children, young people and families. A proven ability to build and develop a strong and high performing team will also be important.
The job offer will be subject to a satisfactory reference and an enhanced DBS check.
