Sunderland Counselling Service are working in partnership with Sunderland All Together Consortium to recruit:
“Good Vibes” Counsellors – 2 posts available
0.5 FTE = 18.5 hours per week
3 year fixed term position
Salary: £29,218 (pro rata) per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Sunderland Counselling Service for two energetic individuals with experience of working as a counsellor / therapist with children and young people. Both counsellors will work half time, but there will need to be flexibility in terms of days and times worked to ensure that the service is accessible.
The post holder will be working as part of a new initiative working in youth centres and community venues across Sunderland to provide mental health counselling support to children and young people aged 10-19. Initially the role will involve work around setting up and promoting the project, normalising mental health issues and ways of accessing support. Going forward it is expected that the post holder would work directly with children and young people who refer themselves for individual counselling, as well as receiving referrals from trained youth workers.
All posts are subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Applications: Please download a copy of the job description and application form from the “Vacancy” page of our website www.sunderlandcounselling.org.uk/vacancies/ and return via email to Caroline Gardner: Caroline.Gardner@stft.nhs.uk
