Honorary Treasurer

Application deadline:
Tuesday, 31 December, 2019 - 17:00
North Tyneside Citizens Advice

We are seeking someone who can offer the skills relevant to financial oversight of our Charity.

We require a Treasurer who can demonstrate commitment and integrity in advising the Trustee Board on the financial health of the organisation. Responsibilities include presentation of the management accounts at board meetings and advising on corrective action that may be required should difficulties arise. The Treasurer role is not that of a book keeper or accountant, it is essential that the Treasurer has a good understanding of financial control and collective board responsibility.  It is a key role in the effective governance of our Charity.

Citizens Advice North Tyneside is governed and managed locally but with the benefit of being part of a large and influential national organisation. We are looking for trustees to sit on our trustee board and help steer the service.

We are a voluntary organisation staffed by fully trained volunteers who are supported by a paid staff structure. We provide free information, advice and advocacy services to the people of North Tyneside.

We are an equal opportunities employer and strive to achieve diversity in all that we do. You must be able to attend meetings at least six times a year, keep yourself briefed on the issues and think strategically. The successful candidate will have financial qualifications or considerable experience of financial management.
