Sunderland Counselling Service have been asked by Tees, Esk & Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust to help with delivery of their Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service by providing counselling to complement the other therapies they currently offer across Durham and Darlington as part of the Talking Changes service.
We will be providing IAPT compliant counselling at step 3 of the IAPT stepped care model, specifically Counselling for Depression (CfD). We expect the majority of this work to be with people experiencing clinically significant low mood and / or depression.
We are offering exciting employment opportunities for counsellors who have successfully completed all aspects of their CfD training and are BACP accredited. If you meet these criteria, you would be entitled to a salary comparable to Agenda for Change band 7.
We would also be keen to hear from applicants who have completed the taught element of the CfD course but are currently in the process of completing assignments and submitting tapes and working on their BACP accreditation. If you meet these criteria, you would be entitled to a salary comparable to Agenda for Change band 6. We would expect that you would continue working towards qualification / accreditation while working in the Durham & Darlington service.
Please note that these positions are available throughout County Durham & Darlington and we are particularly keen to hear from applicants able to work in the South Durham and Darlington areas. Confirmation of exact working location will be agreed as part of the offer process.
We have three full-time vacancies available until the 31st March 2020.
Applications must be received by 9am on Tuesday, 7th May and for a pack, please visit www.sunderlandcounselling.org.uk/vacancies/.
