Job Purpose

We are looking for motivated and diligent individual to be responsible for the delivery of The Auckland Projects’ individual giving programme, maximising supporter engagement and income from new and existing audiences. The ideal candidate will have excellent relationship and communication skills, be warm, approachable, and able to manage diverse workloads and priorities.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage The Auckland Project’s membership programme, the Friends’ of the Auckland Project
  • Develop additional engagement journeys which complement and build on the Friends’ programme 
  • Execute individual campaigns and projects effectively, working in partnership with other teams and ensuring that best practice and regulatory guidelines are followed
  • To contribute to the fundraising strategy, including the growth and development of legacy, and community giving streams
  • Develop effective working relationships across all levels in the organisation including volunteers and beneficiaries, to build networks and maximise opportunities for income development
  • Create inspiring storytelling about the impact of The Auckland Project to build long-term relationships with donors
  • To support the Head of Development, the Leadership Team and Board of Trustees to progress fundraising opportunities with high-net worth individuals and organisations.
  • With the Head of Development, to produce high quality written proposals and make verbal presentations, face to face asks tailored specifically to meet donor’s personal interests
  • To maintain supporter records on The Auckland Project’s CRM system
  • To contribute to the setting of KPIs and the delivery of individual giving fundraising targets

    A recognised Direct Marketing   qualification




Experience of designing and delivering donor engagement journeys that are optimised for income generation across different channels


Experience of developing a wide Individual Giving programme including acquisition, retention and legacy


Demonstrate understanding of using data and databases


Experience of managing external suppliers and agencies


Experience of analysing and interpreting results/trends to inform strategy


In-depth knowledge of fundraising regulations and best practice


Excellent organisational, communication and budget management skills


Demonstrable experience in the implementation of Friends/Patrons Schemes including events


Knowledgeable about the charity sector


Proven track record of building effective relationships with donors


Experience of working with CRM systems


Experience of working in multi-site and/or developing organisation


Understanding of working in community development


Experience of working within a complex work environment


     Experience of working in a customer care role
