We are the Rape and Sexual Abuse Counselling Centre, Darlington and Country Durham (RSACC). We have a new part time vacancies for candidates with the skills and experience to help us grow our Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) Team and provide specialist support to survivors with learning disabilities and learning difficulties.
Our mission is to end rape and sexual violence in Darlington and Country Durham by supporting and empowering women and girls. We a looking for a dynamic individual with experience of providing empathetic and high quality support to survivors and an understanding of the needs of people with learning disabilities, that wants to bring this to a small local charity and join us in working to end rape and sexual violence in Darlington and County Durham.
RSACC was established in 1990 and now supports over 750 survivors each year. We offer free, safe support to survivors who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives. Our ISVA service provides emotional and practical support to survivors, many of whom are going through the criminal justice system. We have an exciting opportunity to add a specialist role to the team that will provide specialist support to people with learning disabilities or learning difficulties and work to ensure any barrier these survivors may experience in accessing support are overcome.
The roles will report to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and sit within a team of 6 existing ISVAs. The team support survivors across Darlington and County Durham and will be based between our offices in Darlington and Durham, with some element of home working. The post is initially funded until March 2023, with the intention to extend subject to funding and satisfactory delivery of objectives.
Salary - £26,999 - £28,785 pro rata
Part time - 30 hours per week
